Let’s be frank, it’s hard doing what we do and it can take a lot of time to create the content that we make. And so, we are grateful to anyone who wants to contribute in any which way. On this page, we wanted to outline the ways that you can help.
Whether you’re a young person who wants to be a part of this project or a business interested in sponsoring us, there are plenty of things you can do. We are also always looking for people to interview on our podcast.
What we want:
We are looking for content to feature on our blog and we are happy to consider all different kinds of content. But mostly, we want to hear your thoughts on things, whether that be an opinion, a story or something you want to raise awareness about. We want content from all types of people, of all political persuasions. Everyone is welcome here.
Note:
While we are open to all people and all beliefs, we do have a duty of care and we reserve the right to refuse some content. We will try our best to accommodate everyone, but opinions that are offensive or have no factual basis will be instantly rejected.
Once you have an idea, it’s important that you get really clear on exactly what it is that you want to say. What is the purpose of your article and what do you want the reader to take away from it? Think about how the article will read, what style it will be in and how you will support whatever it is that you are going to say.
We don’t need to see a full article in the first instance (unless you have one) but we do want to see a brief. This should be as short as you can make it and should include the idea, in as much detail as possible. Be sure to also tell us how you’ll prove your point, what information you will use for it.
Ok, so you’re ready to pitch to us and we are more than ready to see what you have come up with. Once we’ve received your pitch, it could go one of four ways. Either we suggest you make edits, we accept it as it is, we ask you to go ahead and write it or we reject it outright.
What:
If you’ve read a book that is somehow related to politics and you want to share a review with us, we are very keen to hear it. Whether you loved it, hated it or were indifferent towards it, we would love to share your opinion with other readers.
How:
It’s simple. You can either send us the full review or send us a brief. Just send us the name of the book and author, plus roughly 200-300 words on what you thought of this book. Be sure to check our book page first to check if anyone else has already done it.
What:
We want young people to have a full understanding of the political world and that includes what it means to be active or to work within the sphere. If that’s you and you want and are allowed to share one of your normal days, we want you to do so.
How:
Let us know if you think this is something we might be interested in and we will go ahead and book it in to our content calendar. For the day chosen, we would provide you with the login details to our Instagram and you can vlog your day via Instagram stories.
Who it’s for:
Are you a social media whizz? A kickass graphic designer, an in-design wizard or a marketing specialist? Well, we’re not and we would love to have you onboard,
What’s included:
If you think that you have something to offer, please feel free to reach out and contact us about this. Let us know how you think you can help and what you think you can do for us. Please bare in mind that we are not yet in a position to be able to pay for huge services but we do hope to be able to in the future.
Patreon:
On Patreon you can choose one of our 4 packages (starting as low as $1) and in exchange you will get to be more involved and to have access to bonus content. The tiers have been designed to ensure that it is affordable to as many people as possible.
Paypal:
Or you can make a one-off donation via Paypal.
Interview:
If you are a politician, an author, a journalist, an activist or have any other interesting story to tell, we would love the chance to interview you. Pop us an email with an outline of who you are and what you want to say – kay@politics4youth.org.
Take over weekly focus section:
Our podcast episodes are made of three key parts and the last part examines one specific issue. Although we try and ensure that this is related to something current, sometimes it’s something that has been planned for a few weeks. We are interested in having other people fill this slot for us and we’d love to hear you talk about something you’re passionate about. Check we haven’t already covered it and then pop us an email about it.
